By applying a small dot on the queen’s thorax, beekeepers can quickly locate her, saving time and effort during hive inspections. Additionally, the colored marking serves as an indicator of the queen’s age, facilitating effective hive management and monitoring. The green paint used in our marking pen adheres to the International Queen Marking Color Code system followed by beekeepers in 2024.

POSCA Queen Bee Marking Pen features a fine, soft tip with a reliable applicator, ensuring a gentle and precise application. The small identifying dot produced by the bee marking pen is designed not to cover any vital parts of the queen. Ideally, queens should be marked before introduction to a new colony. For a gentler and safer application, we recommend using a POSCA queen marking tube in conjunction with the paint pen. It is essential to allow the paint to dry completely before releasing the queen into the colony.
